New Orleans Series

New Orleans is the place of my birth, and the place of the birth of my painting. My first oil painting was done at age fourteen with a palette knife (I’d forgotten to bring brushes) on the banks of Bayou St. John, and my first solo show was in 1968 in a French Quarter gallery. Today, my New Orleans paintings are based on memories of times past, and in them I hope to evoke the enduring spirit of the Crescent City.
